Updo Tutorial: How to Section Hair for an Updo

In this updo tutorial video, I'm giving you a sneak peak into my first module of my Foundations of Updos course. Here we're talking all about sectioning, why it's important, and how to do it properly so it acts as your roadmap for any updo that you do.

I'll teach you the 5 basic sections for any updo:

1. the headband section (section 1 and 2)

2. the triangle crown section (section 3)

3. the ear to ear section (section 4)

4. the base (section 5)

I also go over how to section for hair all away from the face as well as how to section when you're doing an all down style.

Sectioning updos are a super important step you don't want to miss. Why? Because it is your ulitmate roadmap for the updo you're going to do, plus it helps you work in a clean way that makes sure there isn't any frizz. It makes your updo more manageable to work with as well.
